Critical Review

Romano Kuduzović introduces himself to the public by using the tool of thematic photos portraying the relation between the past and present. The author uses a very authentic way to involve us into the story of these two time frames where he accentuates technological improvement and contemporary life through composition relations and plans. He interprets a single famous Fine Arts character in a caricatural way and depending on the theme, inspires the observer to think about certain elements. For instance, we see the self portrait of A. Dürera or “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by J. Vermeera, and find ourselves trying to comprehend the idea of an artist. Do we want to criticize technological improvement, dependency on gadgets, or just focus on the temporal and societal gap? By using such an interesting concept, Romano Kuduzović does not give us a clear and concise answer, but tries to makes us the part of the idea itself.
